On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Accessibility in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Click Spoken Content.
Turn on “Speak selection.”
To have your Mac start speaking, press the specified keyboard shortcut (the default key combination is Option-Esc).
If you set the option to automatically show the controller, it appears onscreen when your Mac starts speaking. Use the controller to change the speaking rate, move forward or backward one sentence in the text, pause and resume speaking, or stop speaking.
Note: If no text items are available to speak, a sound plays when you press the keyboard shortcut.
To have your Mac stop speaking, press the keyboard shortcut again.
You can set a keyboard shortcut to quickly turn “Speak selection” on or off. Choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Keyboard in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down), click Keyboard Shortcuts, then click Accessibility.

Use Image Wand with Apple Intelligence on iPad to turn a rough sketch into a related image that complements your notes.
Go to the Notes app on your iPad.
Open an existing note or tap to start a new note.
Tap , create a sketch using your finger or Apple Pencil, then tap Image Wand.
Circle your sketch, enter a description, then tap .
Swipe through the created images to find one you like.
Tap to choose a different style — Animation, Illustration, or Sketch.
To refine your image, tap a description, then edit it. To save it, tap Done.
Note: Apple Intelligence is not available on all iPad models or in all languages or regions.7 To access the most recent available features, make sure you’re using the latest version of iPadOS and have Apple Intelligence turned on.

Do one of the following:
Add a provided Focus: Click Add Focus, then click a Focus, such as Gaming or Work.
Create a custom Focus: Click Add Focus, then click Custom. Enter a name, select a color and icon, then click OK. For example, you might create a Study Focus. You can create up to ten.
You can also schedule a Focus to turn on or off automatically, customize app behavior, and use Apple Intelligence to show you only the most important notifications.
Play soothing sounds like Rain, Stream, and Balanced Noise from your Mac to help minimize distractions and increase your sense of calm and focus.

Go to Background Sounds, turn on “Background sounds,” then set any of the following:
Background sound: Click Choose, then click the name of the sound you want to set as the background sound.
Click next to the name of a sound to download a high-quality version of it to your Mac. You must be connected to the internet.
Background sounds volume: Drag the slider to increase or decrease the volume of the background sound.
Turn off background sounds when your Mac is not in use: Automatically turn off background sounds when your Mac is in sleep, the screen saver is on, or the screen is locked.

Clicked send to your professor too fast? You can unsend an email in Mail for up to 30 seconds after it’s sent.
In the Mail app on your Mac, click Undo Send at the bottom of the sidebar within 10 seconds of sending an email (or choose Edit > Undo).
Note: To change the amount of time you have to unsend emails or to turn Undo Send off, choose Mail > Settings, click Composing, click the “Undo send delay” pop-up menu, then choose an option.
